A race that fell well short of its intriguing build-up, undone largely by a layout that made genuine wheel-to-wheel action nearly impossible. Fans were overwhelmingly frustrated, with the drama that did exist stemming from strategy quirks rather than on-track racing. There are a couple of talking points worth a highlights skim, but little here rewards a full sit-through.
The circus rolls into Madrid's new Madring layout, and qualifying has already flipped the script: Lando Norris dragged an unlikely pole "from the depths" after looking a step behind all weekend. Both Ferraris are once again glued together, with Hamilton reportedly threatening pole and Leclerc close behind, while Antonelli's blistering final sector and Colapinto's edge over Gasly add midfield intrigue. Off-track drama looms too, with a wrist injury forcing Liam Lawson into stand-in duty at Red Bull and fans wondering whether Yuki returns to the Racing Bulls seat. With a brand-new track offering unknowns on overtaking and strategy, plus a stacked front of the grid, there's plenty here to reward attention.
